In a move that may help boost sluggish sales of his recent Eat at Whitey's album, Everlast will mount a North American club tour beginning January 25 in Chicago.
A spokesperson at Tommy Boy Records said the trek would likely continue through mid-March with a yet-to-be-determined opening act after talks with "I'm Like a Bird" singer Nelly Furtado fell through.
Despite the attention garnered by Everlast's recent feud with Eminem, Eat at Whitey's has failed to duplicate the multiplatinum success of the ex-House of Pain rapper's previous effort, 1998's Whitey Ford Sings the Blues. Eat at Whitey's, which has spawned a minor alternative radio hit with "Black Jesus," has sold only 194,000 copies since its release in September. The disc will hold steady at #183 on next week's Billboard 200 albums chart after peaking at #20.
