Warren G may be moving into movies as his G-Funk record label has joined forces with independent film company New Regency Enterprises, the folks behind "L.A. Confidential," "Pretty Woman" and "A Time To Kill," and its affiliated label, Restless Records.
The multi-million deal gives the rapper's label a much wider distribution through BMG, and puts G-Funk that much closer to becoming more than just a record label. Teamed with New Regency, Warren G now has the opportunity to move into film work as an actor and as a producer of films and soundtracks.
"This is a dream come true for me," the rapper said in a written statement. "It opens the door to many different areas of the entertainment business."
The rapper has already signed on with United Talent Agency (the same management team behind Jim Carrey, Sandra Bullock, and Drew Carey) to handle his film and TV work.
On the music front, G-Funk's first release under the new agreement will be from the R&B outfit Reel Tight and should arrive this spring.
