June 18 [12:00 EDT] -- The Milarepa Fund, the folks behind the annual Tibetan Freedom Concert, announced that this year's show in New York City raised between $350,000 and $500,000 for various Tibetan causes.

The groups expected to benefit most from this year's concert (which featured the Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Foo Fighters, U2, KRS-One, Eddie Vedder, and members of R.E.M. among others) are Students For A Free Tibet and numerous organizations devoted to helping Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal.

The numbers may swell as Milarepa also plans to release a benefit album this fall featuring tracks from this year's show as well as last year's concert in San Francisco. The organization also hopes to release a documentary film that captures last year's festival.
