Lysa Selfon, the 25-year-old law student hit by lightning at the Tibetan Freedom Concert two weeks ago, has been released earlier than expected from the hospital she has been in since the concert.

Doctors have decided not to perform a skin graft operation, even though Selfon suffered second degree burns on her chest. They plan on repairing Selfon's ruptured ear drum next month.

Before leaving the hospital Wednesday, Selfon thanked several of the acts that played the Tibetan Freedom Concert this year, including Live (who played a benefit show for her last Thursday - see "Live Comes To Aid Of Fan Injured At Tibetan Concert"), Red Hot Chili Pepper Anthony Kiedis (who visited her in the hospital), and R.E.M. and the Dave Matthews Band (who sent her handwritten get well wishes).

Selfon also plans to start fundraising efforts for the Washington Hospital Center, which often provides free care for needy patients.
