The Memphis rap act Three-6 Mafia was just looking for a little pat on the back.

The group had hoped the Memphis city fathers would tip their caps to the group for selling half a million copies of its album, "Chapter 2: World Domination," so they applied to the mayor's office for an official citation. The group was told to turn up at a city council meeting on Tuesday evening, where the matter would be put to a vote.

Unfortunately, by the time the group arrived, several city council members had had the chance to actually listen to "Chapter 2: World Domination" and they objected to the album's violent lyrics. As a result, there will be no pat on the back... not right now anyway.
