After releasing his first album of original material in nearly eight years, singer-songwriter Matt Johnson will lead his revived outfit, The The, out on an extensive North American tour, beginning on April 28 in Boston.
The The's newest record, "NakedSelf," was issued last month via Nothing Records, and marks the group's first LP since 1995, when it issued an album of Hank Williams covers, "Hanky Panky." Prior to that, The The released a U.S. only EP in 1993, titled "Solitude." Backing Johnson for the upcoming The The shows will be guitarist Eric Schermerhorn, bassist Spencer Campbell, and drummer Earl Harvin, all of whom also played on "NakedSelf" and the LP's first single, "Shrunken Man."
