Jan. 21 [10:00 EST] -- Alterna-pop maestro Matthew Sweet will reportedly swing back into the public eye with a tour beginning January 25 and a new album due in March.

Sweet's latest album, "Blue Sky on Mars," reunited the guitarist/singer/songwriter with long-time collaborator/producer Brendan O'Brien (who has also worked with Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Rage Against The Machine). The album, recorded in Atlanta at O'Brien's studio, will hit stores on March 25.

To grease the promotional wheels, Sweet will launch a 20-date club tour on Saturday, January 25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will then embark on a larger tour closer to the album's release date in March.
