Recent Ozzfest grad Static-X has finished its first video and will take to the Net to debut it this week.
The band will unveil the clip for "Push It" this Friday on its official Web site (at www.static-x.com), the only place where people will be able to see the video for the next week. As we reported earlier this year, the video was directed by Mick Olszewski, whose resume includes work as an animator on videos for Tool (see "Static-X Waving Disco Death Metal Flag With Video..."). Olszewski brings a bit of that experience to "Push It," creating an animated mascot for the band called the X-Man. While "Push It" is the band's first video, it is actually the second single from the group's debut album, "Wisconsin Death Trip." Static-X's first single, "Bled For Days," gathered a good deal of steam at rock radio, but the band never released a video for the track. With the video and its run on this summer's Ozzfest behind it, the band now plans to return to the road.
