Unreleased tracks, alternate takes, and live material from the last three decades help make up the 66-song Bruce Springsteen box set that Columbia Records plans to release next month.
"Bruce Springsteen: Tracks," a four-CD set, is due to hit stores on November 10, and boasts 56 unreleased masters among its 66 cuts. The tracks were culled from a mountain of material the Boss recorded from 1972 to the present. In the album's liner notes, Springsteen writes, "What we were doing in (the studio) was making a lot of music, a lot more music than I could use at any one time. As a result, my albums became a series of choices -- what to include, what to leave out... One of the results of working like this was that a lot of music, including some of my favorite things, remained unreleased... Here are some of the ones that got away." You can check out a detailed tracklisting for the box set, including notes on when and where the songs were recorded, at www.brucespringsteen.net.
