Rock quartet Splender may be second-guessing the title of its new single, "I Think God Can Explain."
Earlier this week, the group flew from New York to Los Angeles to shoot the video for the aforementioned song, and somewhere along the way had two guitars stolen; a Fender Telecaster 1952 re-issue model and a one-of-a-kind bass guitar that was custom-built for the band’s bassist James Cruz. The band is offering a reward for the return of the treasured instruments with no questions asked. The shoot for "I Think God Can Explain," the latest single from the group's 1999 album "Halfway Down The Sky," went on ahead, with director Chris Applebaum, whose previous clients include Lit, Semisonic, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, at the helm. No word yet on when the clip will surface. As for touring plans, Splender has a string of East Coast dates with Vertical Horizon during April and May (see "Vertical Horizon On Covering U2, Police Live"). The group will also share a stage with Oasis, Our Lady Peace, and many others for Atlanta’s massive Music Midtown Festival on May 6 (see "Creed, Nas, Oasis To Play Music Midtown").
