Posh Spice, a.k.a. Victoria Adams, has been offered compensation by British Airways after the pop star's luggage was stolen at London's Heathrow Airport last week.
The airline told Reuters news service that it has launched an investigation into the theft of the Spice Girl's three Louis Vuitton bags (said to be worth $3,161 each) which went missing after Posh returned to the U.K. from Miami last Sunday.
"We have offered compensation and it has been accepted," a British Airways spokeswoman told Reuters.
The amount of the compensation was not disclosed, but Britain's "Sunday Mirror" said the airline had agreed to pay 100,000 British pounds (nearly $160,000).
The "Mirror" also reported that Posh had demanded free first-class flights for herself, soccer star husband David Beckham, and their son Brooklyn for life after her bags were stolen during a flight transfer from Heathrow to Manchester.
The suitcases contained the singer's clothing, song lyrics, and other personal belongings, according to the "Mirror" report.
The lost luggage also allegedly contained a demo of the upcoming Spice Girls LP (see "U.K. Reports: Posh Lost New Spice Album").
The spokeswoman said a "couple of items" had since been recovered at Heathrow but would not say whether any suspects had been questioned.
"We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused and have apologized to her. We are taking the matter very seriously and our investigators are working with police," the spokeswoman told Reuters.
