Patti Smith has announced plans for a brief tour this month to drum up support for her most recent album, "Peace and Noise."
Smith and usual suspects Lenny Kaye on guitar and J.D. Daugherty on drums will team with bassist Tony Shanahan and guitarist Oliver Ray for the pre-Thanksgiving tour, which launches on November 13 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The line-up is the same one that helped Smith craft the critically hailed "Peace and Noise," which earned four stars from "Rolling Stone" magazine as well as kudos from "The Los Angeles Times" and "Entertainment Weekly." Smith, who got her start as a poet in the early '70s while an associate of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, has also just released "Patti Smith Complete," a collection of all her lyrics dating back to Smith's 1975 landmark debut album, "Horses."
