While currently in the midst of a 16-city-U.S. tour, the critically acclaimed drum-n-bass wiz Roni Size is pulling out all the stops to prove that his brand of electronica can be convincingly taken to the stage.

Size was in New York City last week to play a sold-out gig [Roni Size live, 900k QuickTime], and he and partner MC Dynamite dropped by MTV News to explain their approach in making drum-n-bass music translate into a live environment.

"It's not just about coming and watching a show," MC Dynamite said about audience participation at a Roni Size show. "It's about coming and being part of a show. It's about energy. It's about vibe. It's about creating something."

"One of the myths about this music is that it was a totally studio-based music," Size explained, "or a DJ thing -- where you could only DJ, and I always had this thing in my head, where if you could perform this music on stage live, the energy that you could get from it would be incredible." The Roni Size tour plays Cleveland Thursday and wraps up March 29 in Los Angeles.
