Silkk The Shocker, C-Murder, Total, and Snoop Dogg will be among the artists pitching in for the soundtrack to "3 Strikes," an urban comedy marking the directorial debut of hip-hop producer DJ Pooh.
The film, also written by Pooh (who co-wrote Ice Cube's "Friday"), pokes fun at California's "three strikes" law, an edict that means a sentence of 25 years to life for anyone convicted of a third felony. The soundtrack will also feature E-40, who turns up in the film as a character named Mike who tries to help Rob (Brian Hooks of "Bullworth" and "Beloved") by fronting him some money for a lawyer and serving as his getaway guy. David Alan Grier ("In Living Color," "Boomerang," "Blankman"), N'Bushe Wright ("Blade," "Dead Presidents," "Zebrahead"), Faizon Love ("Friday," "The Player's Club," "B.A.P.S.") and veteran comedian George Wallace help to round out the cast. The movie will mark Pooh's latest cinematic step after building a successful music career behind the scenes producing cuts for L.L. Cool J, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube, among others. The film will arrive on February 25, while the soundtrack (which also features Tha Eastsidaz, Sauce Money, Tha Alkaholiks, King Tee, Xzibit, and others ) will hit stores on February 22.
