Buoyed by "Closing Time," a song destined to become one of this year's summer anthems, Semisonic's new record, "Feeling Strangely Fine," has just been certified gold, and the band has booked a high profile TV gig for the "Tonight Show" on July 6.

Despite the recent bout with success, Semisonic frontman Dan Wilson told the MTV Radio Network that neither the band nor its audience seems to feel strangely different.

"I don't feel any effect from it," Wilson said of the band's cross-over hit. "Although the crowds are bigger and they really respond to 'Closing Time,' they're also really into the rest of the songs. But I guess I never thought that [having a hit song] would change my life, so I'm not disappointed."

Semisonic will wrap up the current leg of its U.S. tour with a performance on June 28 at the Summerfest concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
