Thanks to his work on such videos as "Criminal" from Fiona Apple, "Devil's Haircut" from Beck and "Scream" from Janet and Michael Jackson, director Mark Romanek has developed a reputation as one of the most celebrated artists currently working in music videos -- even winning him an MTV Video Vanguard award in 1997 for his lifetime achievement in the field.

Now Romanek is preparing to take his directing skills from the small screen to the big screen for two widely diverse films, "Paradise Falls" and "Arbus." The director is currently waiting to see which film will be green-lighted from its studio first before committing to either project, according to a report from "Variety."

"Paradise Falls" is a supernatural thriller about a fallen angel investigating the murder of an archangel while the fate of the world swings in the balance, while "Arbus," based on a screenplay written by Romanek, will be a biopic based on the life and tragic death of '60s photographer Diane Arbus.
