With "Californication" perched in the upper echelon of the "Billboard" album charts over three months its release and "Scar Tissue" making its mark as a huge hit single, one might say that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are on top of the world.
That was probably the thinking behind the group's upcoming New York gig set to take place at the Top Of The World, located on the 107th floor of New York City's World Trade Center. The show is a promotional event to plug the group's latest single, "Around The World" (see "Chili Peppers To Join NIN, Chems, Blink-182 At Big Day Out; New Video On Tap"). The event is being held in conjunction with radio station WXRK (K-ROCK), with tickets being made available through the station. A few additional tickets will be made to Red Hot Chili Pepper fan club members "from the New York City area only who have never been to a private show or met the band or been backstage," according to the band's official Web site. For those unable to make the World Trade Center gig, fear not: the Chili Peppers plan to tour the U.S. next year.
