You might remember such songs as "You're Checkin' In," "Cletus The Slack-Jawed Yokel!" and "We Put The Spring Back In Springfield" from the TV series "The Simpsons." Though who can forget Sonic Youth's rendition of the show's end theme or the Ramones singing "Happy Birthday Mr. Burns?" These unforgettable musical moments have been relegated to reruns of the show... until now.
The previously mentioned songs are among the 62 tracks featured on "Go Simpsonic With The Simpsons," the follow-up to 1997's "Songs In The Key Of Springfield," the previous collection of musical moments from the popular animated series. Scheduled to hit stores on November 2, "Go Simpsonic" will include songs, themes and underscore music, picking up where "Songs In The Key Of Springfield" left off; it also digs deeply into the show's first nine seasons, including tracks that didn't make its predecessor. Incidentally, this collection shouldn't be confused with the Simpsons' "Yellow Album," which was released last year. That record, which paired characters from the show with the likes of Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart and George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars for a handful of originals and cover tunes, was in the vein of 1991's "The Simpsons Sing The Blues," which spawned the hit "Do The Bartman."-- Brian Ives
