The men of Rage Against The Machine will be kicking off "The Battle Of Los Angeles" (the on-tour edition, that is) in the California metropolis of Oakland on Friday night.
Rage is, of course, a politically outspoken band that doesn't tour just "for the nookie" or to boost record sales. As guitarist Tom Morello explained to MTV News, the band's ticket sales on this outing will also benefit local organizations. "Much in the way that the Black Panthers, to use an ex[ample]," Morello began, Rage will be on the road in support of its new record "The Battle Of Los Angeles" with opening acts Gang Starr and the freestyle hip-hop group Dilated Peoples.
