April 24 [7:55 EST] -- The Iggy Pop career revival, launched by "Trainspotting" and its use of the Iggy classic "Lust For Life" continues.

A remixed version of the 1973 Iggy and the Stooges epic "Raw Power" hit record stores this week, much to Iggy's delight. Despite the fact that the album is considered a classic by many, Pop still felt the album could use some serious re-tooling, as he told our colleagues at MTV Latino recently when they caught up with him in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

"When I finished the original 'Raw Power,'" Iggy Told MTV, "I was so stoned and spent so much money, we didn't have any time or attention left for the mix. It was never right, so I fixed it." [1MB QuickTime]

So how did it turn out?

"I just got done with it," Iggy told MTV. . [1MB QuickTime]

Aside from his work on "Raw Power," Iggy's also been at work on his first entire movie score, for Johnny Depp's directorial debut. The film, titled "The Brave," will make its premiere at next month's Cannes Film Festival in France.

"I just flew here from Hollywood," Iggy said. "I did two months work on the score for a movie called 'The Brave' which is Johnny Depp's... It's different. It's movie music. It's a whole different deal. A lot of it is very emotional, and then others of it sounds like somebody dropped a garbage can out the window."

Iggy will take some time away from the studio next month when he headlines the Revolution Of Alternative Rhythm (R.O.A.R.) tour with Sponge, Tonic, the Bloodhound Gang, and the Reverend Horton Heat.

This summer, Iggy-philes can also keep an eye out for an Iggy Pop tribute album with tracks by Nada Surf and Joey Ramone among others.
