When Our Lady Peace's annual Canadian Summersault mini-tour gets rolling on Friday in Vancouver, A Perfect Circle will not be on board.
The band will miss the tour opener because of what the group's camp is calling a family emergency. Virgin Records says the band will miss only the first date of the tour and will meet up with Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Eve 6, and the rest of this year's Summersaulters on Sunday in Edmonton.
The move is not expected to have an effect on A Perfect Circle's upcoming U.S. tour, which gets rolling on August 18 in Boston.
Amid their tour plans, frontman Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Billy Howerdel, and the rest of A Perfect Circle are also preparing to launch the second single from their debut album, "Mer De Noms." Virgin Records confirms that "3 Libras" will be the next offering from the album, and that the track should start hitting radio in late August. A video is also in the works, though the band has yet to settle on a director, a concept, or a shooting schedule.
