Pearl Jam is gearing up for the release of its sixth studio effort, titled "Binaural," and on April 10 the band will take to the Web to unveil its new single, "Nothing As It Seems," a full day before the track is released to radio.
Streaming audio of "Nothing As It Seems" will be available from April 10-24 at three places on the Web: the band's official home page at Sony Records; Apple's QuickTime area; and the Ten Club fan site.
"Nothing As It Seems," which features music and lyrics written by bassist Jeff Ament, will be issued to radio on April 11, with a commercial version of the single, including another album track, "Insignificance," due in stores on April 25.
The band will launch an eight-week European tour support of "Binaural" on May 23, with the North American tour slated to begin on August 3 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
On April 12, Pearl Jam will perform on the "Late Show With David Letterman" as part of a special birthday treat for the late-night host, who will turn 53.
"Binaural" is now due out on Epic Records on May 16, a week earlier than previously announced (see "Pearl Jam Goes 'Binaural' With New Album, North American Tour").
