Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has reportedly joined a growing band of British stars speaking out against fox hunting.

Reuters reports that Gallagher is one of many celebs who recently wrote to British Prime Minister Tony Blair seeking and end to fox hunting. Gallagher reportedly wrote to Blair on Sunday just as hunters prepare for numerous traditional holiday season fox hunts on Monday.

"At the dawn of the new millennium outdated and barbaric activities such as hunting should be consigned to the history books," Reuters quotes Gallagher as saying in his letter.

The guitarist now joins a campaign that has already garnered the support of Paul McCartney at actress Dame Judi Dench.

In the past, Blair has said that he would support a ban on fox hunting, but that he would not pressure parliament on the issue.
