R&B singer/songwriter Monifah is still riding high with her single "Touch It," a development that surprises even her.

The song, the first single off her sophomore album "Mo'hogany," was written and produced by Monifah's labelmate Jack Knight, and had managed to build on the fanbase she established with her debut album, "Moods... Moments."

"I've gotten a lot more recognition from (the song)," Monifah recently told the MTV Radio Network. "It sold to a diverse group of people, like, a lot of people know who I am and it surprises me sometimes. It's not just like my urban audience or the hip-hop heads or the R&B (fans). A lot of people know who I am. (They say,) 'It's the Touch It' girl.' It feels good though."

Monifah hopes to take her newfound widespread appeal on the road for a tour early this year.
