There's one less Bosstone on the prowl.
Mercury Records confirms that saxophonist Kevin Lenear has left the band just as the Bosstones are preparing to launch a string of tour dates that includes time on the H.O.R.D.E. tour.
Mercury representatives told MTV News that the horn player left the band to pursue solo work, and that fellow Bosstone Tim Burton would be picking up the slack.
The band will start its brief run on H.O.R.D.E. at the tour's first date this Friday, and will remain on board through the weekend. Then the Bosstones will travel to Australia for a number of dates there.
As we previously reported (see "Bosstones To Release Live Record, Tour With H.O.R.D.E. And Warped"), the Bosstones live experience will also be captured on a live album due in September. The band recorded the album last December at a club on their Boston home turf.
