After spending much of last year working on a new record, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have set a May 2 release date for the album, titled "Pay Attention."

"Pay Attention" marks the Bosstones' first studio effort since 1997's "Let's Face It," the LP that elevated the band to platinum status -- thanks in large part to the hit alternative single, "The Impression That I Get."

The new album was recorded at studios in Longview Farms, Massachusetts, and produced by Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade, the same team that handled "Let's Face It." Andy Wallace, whose recent projects include Guns N' Roses' "Live Era: '87-'93" and Tonic's "Sugar," mixed the new Bosstones record.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have yet to decide which track will serve as the first single from "Pay Attention," and the group is planning to launch an extensive North American tour in the spring.
