Megadeth, most recently seen tearing it up on World Championship Wrestling's "Monday Nitro" broadcast, has pinned down a release date for its upcoming album.

Dave Mustaine and company will deliver "Risk," their ninth Capitol Records release, on August 31.

The metal mainstays have been drumming up early support for the album with "Crush 'Em," a single that will also turn up on the soundtrack to the upcoming film "Universal Soldier: The Return." The cut is already finding a home at radio, where it recently debuted as the third most added track on alternative rock stations. The song has also already become a favorite at Major League Baseball and NHL hockey games.

As we first reported last month, the band hooked up with "Universal Soldier" stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and WCW star Bill Goldberg to shoot a video for the song (see "Megadeth Teaming With Van Damme, Goldberg For 'Universal Soldier' Video"). Megadeth reunited with Goldberg this week on "Nitro," where the band performed "Crush 'Em" and ushered in Goldberg's return to the WCW after a six-month absence.

The band does have a few more conventional performances planned for the horizon. After "Risk" hits stores, Megadeth will launch a European tour in September, and hopes to tour the States in October.
