Megadeth is currently in the market for some supporting acts for its upcoming U.S. tour, and the band is looking at more than music in filling the bill.

The group will take an opening slot to headliners Iron Maiden on select dates of a European tour that kicks off next week, and the band will then return to the States in October for a tour here. When they do, frontman Dave Mustaine told MTV News that they will feature a rotating cast of carefully selected opening acts.

"I believe," Mustaine told MTV News, "and I hope that I'm not misquoting right now, but... I think Static-X is supposed to do something, and we are going to use some different opening acts, probably at two to three week stints, and rotate them in and out based on people who we find favorable musically... based on other people that we've worked with in management or label positions that we're friends with that need a break and based on people who have helped us. I think that's one of the best things for Megadeth is that we've treated out career like a tide pool. You know, fresh life comes in and it takes out the bad. It's the same way that we treat people. If they give us something, we give it right back." [RealVideo]

Megadeth hasn't yet solidified any tour openers yet, but we'll keep you posted.

The band will, however, get some heavy duty help from Type O Negative, Puya, DDT, and Full Devil Jacket Wednesday night in New York at a benefit concert marking the 15th anniversary of Concrete Marketing.
