Citing "personal reasons," soulful R&B crooner Maxwell has postponed his upcoming U.S. tour just two weeks before it was to kick off in Minneapolis.
In a brief statement issued Wednesday, spokespeople for the singer say that his fall tour has been scrapped and is being rescheduled for 1999. Maxwell's camp would not elaborate on the reasons behind the move, but did say that the singer is in well health and is doing fine. "Love and appreciation to the ticket buyers and to those who were planning on attending," the singer said in the statement announcing the postponement. "To everyone in the industry, especially Magic Johnson Productions and BET, thank you for putting your heart and soul into this." Fans who are currently holding tickets for any postponed dates are urged to seek refunds at the point of purchase.
