Madonna has helped many of her fans catch a rhythm, but now she may be helping them keep time -- thanks to a new Madonna watch expected to arrive on store shelves by the end of the year.

The watch is just of the many Madonna-branded items being developed under a licensing and merchandising deal the singer has just inked with Sony Signatures. As part of the pact, Sony Signatures will attempt to match Madonna with suitable products and goods for her to promote, endorse or lend her image to. The agreement also gives Sony Signatures the rights to handle miscellaneous wares, such as T-shirts, posters and programs, on Madonna's upcoming tour.

According to Sony Signatures, the first product to receive the "star treatment" under the agreement is the current ad campaign featuring Madonna -- or her hands, at least -- modeling several Ebel watches in various print and broadcast medium. Several of Madonna's "hands only" ads have already turned up in recent issues of "Vogue" and "Architectural Digest" magazines.

The singer is also working with the Swiss timepiece company of Ebel to produce an entire line of Madonna-branded watches, with the first design expected to arrive in stores by the end of the year. Sony Signatures says that it is hoping to pair Madonna with such items as fashion accessories, fragrances and cosmetics as well.

Up next for Madonna is a new film, "The Next Big Thing," in which she's set to star alongside Rupert Everett.
