The seemingly endless case between Sarah McLachlan and producer/musician Darryl Neudorf has now been set to resume February 8 in Vancouver, according to Neudorf's lawyer, Jonathon Simkin. The court adjourned December 10.

Neudorf is suing McLachlan and her label, Nettwerk, demanding royalties and credit as a producer and a co-writer for four of the songs on her Nettwerk album, "Touch." (see "Sarah McLachlan Testifies At Trial").

The civil trial has already lasted six weeks and another two weeks have now been set aside for the continuance. The court had previously heard roughly 30 days of testimony. When the parties meet again in February, it will be co-defendants Mark Jowett and Terry McBride, Nettwerk VP and CEO respectively, taking the stand, as well as two musicians who played on the album, drummer Ross Hales and keyboardist Dave Kershaw. Kershaw is McLachlan's former boyfriend.

Once the trial wraps up, it may still be months before the judge renders a decision, given the hundreds of pages of evidence to be considered. McLachlan had previously attended the sessions on a daily basis but she hasn't been back in court since wrapping up her own testimony earlier this month (see "Sarah McLachlan Testifies Again As Civil Trial Drags On").

In other McLachlan news, courtesy of Nettwerk, the singer is scheduled to play a 30-minute at a benefit for victims of Hurricane Mitch this Friday (December 18) in Santa Monica, California. She'll be joining Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Jackson Browne and Keb' Mo. Also expect to see McLachlan make a guest appearance that night on the Tonight Show performing her new single, "Angel."
