The New York-based rap group M.O.P., who have just been added to this year's Smokin' Grooves Tour, is currently wrapping up the mastering stages of its sophomore LP, "First Family 4 Life," scheduled for release on June 30.

"Four Alarm Fire," the first single from the new album, features a guest appearance from Jay-Z, while other rap and hip-hop notables, such as Big Punisher, Treach from Naughty By Nature, Freddie Fox, O-C, Pete Rock, Guru and Gang Starr's DJ Premier, turn up on "Life" as well.

Premier, who produced six tracks on the new M.O.P. record and sings the hook line on another cut, "Breakin' The Rules, talked to the MTV Radio Network recently about the project, and described himself as a serious fan of the group.

"Every record has a feeling," Premier said, "And the day I heard [the M.O.P. song] 'How About Some Hardcore,' I lost my mind. You didn't even have to wonder, 'Oh, are they fake?' and 'Oh, is that just their image on record?' It was the feelings they put into it."

As we previously reported (see "Public Enemy, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef On Board ..."), this year's Smokin' Grooves Tour will feature a line-up that includes Public Enemy, Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Gang Starr, Canibus and Cypress Hill.
