With the Lo Fidelity Allstars hypnotic new single, "Battleflag," starting to make commercial in-roads here in the states, the British big beat outfit is about to launch its first extended road outing of the U.S. -- although the group has undergone a series of personnel changes since it made its American debut at last fall's CMJ Music Festival in New York City.
Last December, vocalist Wrekked Train left the group prior to a series of British tour dates, having decided that he wanted his normal life back after a year of relentless touring in the Lo-Fi's homeland. He was temporarily replaced by Albino Priest, who appears on the "Battle Flag," although its believed the band will employ the use of sampled vocals for its U.S. tour.
Around the same time, keyboardist Sherif Jon Stone opted out of the band as well, although he had sat a series of Lo Fi concerts since early September, according to the group's U.S. representative. For the upcoming tour, the Lo-Fidelity Allstars have tapped a friend, Sanj from Indian Ropeman, to provide the necessary keyboard accompaniment.
