Following the shooting death of Kurupt and Daz Dillinger's security guard on Sunday night, Kurupt's label released three different statements on the incident, the first of which insinuates a lyrical feud gone bad, the last of which apologizes for this speculation.

The first statement from ANTRA Music reads, "We believe, but it is not yet confirmed, that the shooting resulted from a possible misinterpretation of a hidden track on Kurupt's forthcoming album." The song in question, "Callin Out Names," refers to the demise of Kurupt and Foxy Brown's engagement and insinuates that DMX was involved.

The last statement retracts the first, saying that an ANTRA staffer was misquoted and that the label regrets that other artists were dragged into the situation.

Neither Brown nor DMX had a comment regarding the incident. DMX was in Miami working on his next album at the time of the Los Angeles studio shooting, which left one man dead and two others wounded (see "Kurupt's Security Guard Killed, Two Others Injured In Studio Shooting").

According to the police, the motive and the intended victims are not yet known and no arrests have been made thus far.
