In the most recent development regarding his ongoing legal battles, Death Row Records' head Marion "Suge" Knight could now be out of prison as early as next week after being incarcerated since 1996.
As we previously reported (see "Suge Knight Sentence Overturned, Wins New Probation Hearing"), Knight's nine-year sentence for a probation violation was overturned last week by a California Appellate court. A new hearing is expected to be scheduled after September 26, and in the meantime, his lawyer, David Kenner, is working to get the CEO out on bail. Knight is currently serving his time in California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo. As for the label itself, Death Row Records will be putting out a 27-track double-album on October 6 titled, "Death Row: Inside Out," featuring both old and new material from the label's artists, including three previously unreleased songs from the late Tupac Shakur: "Late Night," "Unconditional Love," and "Black Jesus." Death Row does not currently plan to release any other albums for the rest of the year.
