Kiss member Paul Stanley will be reprising his role as "The Phantom" for an extra 40 performances of the musical "The Phantom Of The Opera," according to the "Toronto Sun."
Stanley starred in the Toronto stage production from May 21 until August 1, and will now return for another run from September 28 to October 31. The play was supposed to have closed following a special tenth anniversary performance on September 26, but the run has been extended. The paper reported that a change in Kiss' tour schedule allowed Stanley the opportunity to revisit his "Phantom" role. The band will not be hitting the road until the year 2000. In other Kiss news, the Kiss Asylum Web site (kissasylum.com) is offering advance sales of a posthumous solo album by former Kiss drummer Eric Carr. Carr played with the band from 1980 until his death from cancer in 1991. The CD was put together by Carr's family and former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick and is comprised of ten songs recorded during the drummer's tenure with Kiss. The track listing includes "Eyes Of Love," "Somebody's Waiting," "Heavy Metal Baby," "Just Can't Wait," "Mad Dog," "You Make Me Crazy," "Nightmare," and "Too Cool For School." An Eric Carr video is also scheduled to be released next month.-Sorelle Saidman
