Kiss has just announced that its upcoming road trip will be its last.
The group has released dates and venues for an initial 34 stops on what the band is calling its "Farewell Tour," which is scheduled to kick off on March 11 in Phoenix. As we previously reported, the opening acts on the jaunt will include Ted Nugent and a retooled Skid Row, sans Sebastian Bach (see "Skid Row, Ted Nugent To Open For Kiss"). The original members of Kiss, namely Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley, first got together in 1973 and (after a series of lineup changes) reformed for a 1996-97 worldwide reunion tour. The outing finished up as the highest grossing tour of the year. The reformed group subsequently issued an album of new material, 1998's "Psycho Circus." Also on the Kiss schedule is a live album recorded mostly at the band's New Years Eve concert in Vancouver. "Alive IV" is scheduled to be released March 28. According to the kissonline.com Web site, the track listing includes "Psycho Circus," "Shout It Out Loud," "Deuce," "Heaven's On Fire," "Into The Void," "Firehouse," "Do You Love Me," "Let Me Go Rock & Roll," "I Love It Loud," "Lick It Up," "100,000 Years," "Love Gun," "Black Diamond," "Beth," and "Rock And Roll All Nite." Bonus tracks for a Japanese import release include "2000 Man," "God Of Thunder," and "Detroit Rock City." Its long been rumored that Frehley in particular has been chomping at the bit to get back to his solo career. As for Stanley, he's expected to take on the lead role in the Broadway musical "Jekyll & Hyde" when the Kiss tour wraps up in July.
