Kid Rock and Oleander have signed on for a charity concert being held this weekend at the Atlanta Civic Center and which will raise funds for a local area food bank.
The event is being co-sponsored by Mindspring Internet Services, Bass Ale, and Atlanta radio station WNNX as part of its annual "99X Deck The Hall Ball." The Kid Rock-Oleander concert on December 11 will also feature an opening set from newcomers Johnny Hyde. Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, a non-profit group that provides food to the needy and to shelters across the metro-Atlanta area. After the on-off pairing, both Kid Rock and Oleander will take a few weeks off before gearing up for their respective New Year's Eve gigs. Following some warm-up (literally) shows in Florida, Kid Rock will join Metallica, Sevendust, and Ted Nugent for a December 31 show at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. Oleander will return to its hometown of Sacramento, California for a New Year's Eve concert with Fastball at the Sacramento Convention Center.-- David Basham
