December 16 [12:00 EDT] -- While reports from Australia say that INXS plans to carry on with a new frontman, the band's U.S. label says the band's future plans are still up in the air.
As we first reported last week, reports in the Australian press say that the band will bring on a singer named Jack Jones from the group Southern Souls to replace Michael Hutchence who died last month. Reports have also come out of Australia that Jimmy Barnes, formerly of Cold Chisel, might assume singing duties with the band.
However, a spokesperson at the band's U.S. label, Mercury Records, says "nothing has been decided yet."
