Rap group Three 6 Mafia has reunited with original members Juicy J and DJ Paul for its first new album in three years, "When The Smoke Clears - Sixty 6, Sixty 1," featuring appearances from Goodie M.O.B.'s Big Gipp, Insane Clown Posse, UGK, and Mr. Serv-On.
The first single from "When The Smoke Clears," the long-awaited follow-up to 1997's "Chapter 2 - World Domination" LP, is "Sippin' On Syrup," a song about the ill effects of drinking prescription cough syrup for recreational purposes.
Insane Clown Posse guests on the cut "Just Another Crazy Clique," a collaboration that DJ Paul, in a statement, said began when "we called them up to invite them to record with us and found out they were fans of our music, too. From that point on we clicked."
In January, Three 6 Mafia issued "Three 6 Mafia Presents: Hypnotize Camp Posse" a collection of cuts from the band, its members, and the group's extended family, including tracks from Gangsta Boo, Project Pat, and Pastor Troy, among others.
Three 6 Mafia will release "When The Smoke Clears" on June 13, and the rappers are currently mapping out a promotional tour that is tentatively set to kick off on June 2 in Birmingham, Alabama.
