June 6 [12:00 EDT] -- Courtney Love's band Hole entered a Los Angeles studio this week to begin recording a follow-up to their wildly successful "Live Through This," released in 1994.

The material for the as-yet untitled album, says management, has all been written by Courtney Love and members of Hole. Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins has been acting as an Executive Producer/advisor. Corgan is currently preparing The Smashing Pumpkins for a short series of live appearances at major festivals in Europe.

Michael Beinhorn is on board to produce the album, confirms Hole manager Brian Celler. "Live Through This" saw two producers, Paul O. Holderie and Sean Slade, as did Hole's 1991 debut, "Pretty on the Inside," which credited Don Fleming and Kim Gordon.

Beinhorn's background ranges from supplying keyboards and synthesizers to Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock and the avant-funk Golden Palominos in the early 80s to producing Ozzy Osborne's "Ozzmosis" in the mid-90s. He is best known for his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers ("The Uplift Mofo Party Plan," "Mother's Milk"), Soul Asylum ("Grave Dancers Union"), Soundgarden ("Superunknown") and Social Distortion ("White Light, White Heat, White Trash").
