Incomparable Golden Globe presenter and Hole frontwoman Courtney Love chatted about her sticky label situation with MTV News' Chris Connelly while hanging out on the award show's red carpet on Sunday night.
When asked about the band's status with Geffen Records, which recently sued Love and Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson for breach of contract (see "Hole Sued By Geffen Records For Breach Of Contract"), Love said it had all to do with the numbers. "What's going on with you and Geffen?" Connelly asked. "Anything we need to know about?" "I quit," Love stated. "They gave me a dollar after I sold, you know, five million records, and I said, 'You know [what] you guys? I'm out of here.'" Connelly inquired. "No, I resigned," Love answered. "It's something you can do in California. Despite whatever they say, don't believe the hype. I might give 'the' interview at one point about this." [RealVideo] In the suit, Geffen Records claims that Hole still owes the label five albums.
