July 25 [10:00 EDT] -- Jimi Hendrix fans might want to start saving up for a little piece of rock memorabilia that goes on the auction block at Sotheby's in London on September 17th.
According to a Reuters report, a Fender Stratocaster guitar that was once owned by the rock legend is expected to bring in about $300,000.
The guitar was also owned by another rock veteran -- it was given by Hendrix to his New York neighbor, Al Kooper, founder of Blood, Sweat and Tears, who was also a session musician for Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones.
At a 1990 Sotheby's auction, another Hendrix guitar, a 1968 Fender Stratocaster he played at the Woodstock Festival, fetched $330,000, a world record.
