One-of-a-kind items from Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beatles are going up for sale -- but they won't be cheap.
Exclusive rock and roll memorabilia from those artists and Bob Dylan, the Who, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, and Elvis Presley, are among the items that will be put on sale starting January 21 by Gavelnet.com as part of its ten-day "Rock The Block" auction. Some of the featured memorabilia includes a Nirvana-Mudhoney poster signed by Kurt Cobain, a "Hey Jude" LP signed by the Beatles, an "Are You Experienced" LP signed by Jimi Hendrix, a "Tattoo You" LP autographed by the Rolling Stones, and a signed backstage pass from The Who. A 1964 Rockola jukebox with original Buddy Holly Records, a concert program signed by Frank Zappa, and several custom-made, personalized guitars from the likes of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Pete Townshend will also be up for bids until the auction closes on January 30. Gavelnet.com's "Rock The Block" stunt is considered to be the largest online auction to date for such high-end rock memorabilia, and fans and collectors can currently catch a preview of what will be available at the auction house's official Web site at www.gavelnet.com.-- David Basham
