Another artist coming out to perform at this year's Tibetan Freedom Concert, Gang Starr's Guru has been added to this year's line-up, where he will perform with the Headhunters, which features jazz keyboardist Herbie Hancock.
For Hancock, who played with the legendary Miles Davis and scored a rock fusion hit in the early '80s with "Rockit," the June 13 appearance at the show will mark his first show with the Headhunters in 25 years.
The pure jazz bent won't be all that new for Guru either, as the Gang Starr rapper has worked in the hip hop-meets-jazz group Jazzmatazz, which included Branford Marsalis.
As we previously reported (see "Wallflowers Added To..."), the Headhunters with Guru will perform along with the Wallflowers, Tracy Chapman, KRS-One, Live, Dave Matthews, Radiohead, R.E.M. and Beck, among others, on June 13 at the Tibetan concert being held this year at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
