The Freestylers will bring its highly touted live show back to the States for a two-week tour starting this week, after which they will hop on board Lenny Kravitz and Smash Mouth's late summer tour for a series of opening dates.
The group, whose video for "Here We Go" continues to draw heavy rotation on MTV2, received rave reviews for its entourage-styled live shows, which features MCs, live musicians, DJs, and break dancers (for more on the band's live show, see "Freestylers: An MTV Online Feature"), during an opening stint for the Lo-Fidelity Allstars in June. MTV recently caught up with the Freestylers' Aston Harvey, who discussed the importance of the band's live shows to its overall outlook and identity. I think it's really important to put on a [great] show," Harvey said, "'cause people want to be [at concerts] and be entertained. That's why they come out in the first place. If you can make your show a bit theatrical in a way, then it's a full-on show."
