September 30 [10:00 EDT] -- Amidst the many multi-disc sets due out before Christmas, one that is sure to stand out is "Zereeka," the latest sonic experiment cooked up by Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne.
Each disc in the four-disc set, due October 28, can be played separately, but the band says the four CDs are really meant to be played simultaneously on four separate CD players.
Coyne first got this unusual idea last spring at the annual South By Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas where he passed out tapes of music, samples and animal noises to a few dozen cars in a parking lot and then had everyone push "play" at the same time.
