October 3 [7:55 EDT] -- Folks who turn up at Hollywood's famed Viper Room Friday night are in for a bit of a surprise.

Our colleagues at the MTV Radio Network report that Everclear is scheduled to play a secret show at the club under the name "Thee Ever Kleers."

Art Alexakis and company will be performing as a warm up for the release of their upcoming album, "So Much For The Afterglow," which arrives next Tuesday. The band won't officially kick off its tour until Sunday when Everclear plays for 6,000 fans for free at the World Championships of Skateboarding at Universal's City Walk in Los Angeles.
