December 19 [7:55 EDT] -- Boston's Paradise nightclub was slapped with a 34-day suspension of its entertainment license this week stemming from a stagediving incident at an Everclear concert.

The penalty, which took effect on Wednesday, is the result of an incident at a November 13 Everclear show in which two NFL football players allegedly dove from the stage injuring a 23-year-old woman.

The penalty was handed down for what were termed "safety violations" and was assessed by the city of Boston's office of consumer affairs and licensing. Though the club isn't actually required to close its doors, it IS forbidden from having bands perform or allowing dancing by patrons, effectively killing its main source of revenue.

The Paradise has announced plans to appeal the city's ruling, though a recorded message at the club indicates it will be shut down until the suspension is completed January 20.

Meanwhile, the injured fan's lawsuit against the club, NFL players Drew Bledsoe and Max Lane, and Everclear is still pending.
