Call it a modern rock radio programmer's wet dream.

"Sex And Candy" purveyors Marcy Playground, "I Will Buy You A New Life" rockers Everclear, and "The Way" pushers Fastball are preparing to hit the road together for a tour that kicks off next month.

After topping "Billboard's" Modern Rock chart for a couple of months, Marcy Playground is now crossing over and cracking the top ten of the mainstream singles chart with its breakthrough single, an impressive feat for a band that lost its record label last summer. The band had been on EMI records when that label folded, leaving the band with nothing but "Sex And Candy" [900k QuickTime] to get them through.

"It was a shock," Marcy Playground frontman John Wozniak told MTV News of EMI's closure, So I think Capitol Records was curious about that. Then they just decided to pick up the contract that was left in the wake of the EMI catastrophe."

Since landing on Capitol, Marcy Playground has earned platinum sales status with its self-titled debut album, which you can hear plenty of on the band's tour with Everclear and Fastball.
